The 17th session of the Intergovernmental\u00a0Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage\u00a0is taking\u00a0place in Marocco&#8217;s capital, Rabat, until 3rd December 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rte__paragraph\">Ambassador Peter Reuss, Permanent Delegate of Germany to <abbr class=\"rte__abbreviation\" title=\"United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization\">UNESCO<\/abbr>, declared: \u201cModern Dance belongs to the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as of today. It shows that <abbr class=\"rte__abbreviation\" title=\"United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization\">UNESCO<\/abbr> has understood the artistic and social importance of this cultural\u00a0practice which has its origins in\u00a0the expressive dance of the early 20th century and in the reform movement of the Monte Verit\u00e0. <abbr class=\"rte__abbreviation\" title=\"United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization\">UNESCO<\/abbr>&#8216;s recognition will increase the visibility and\u00a0radiance of Modern Dance in Germany and on a worldwide scale.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 30th November 2022, the practice of Modern Dance in Germany was inscribed in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
